From Sally Kempton

I love the metaphor of the universe as a magic show. Like any piece of supreme theater, its real and yet not real, always shifting, always drawing you in with the power of the performances. And there are several possible attitudes that a yogi can take towards it all. You can get completely entangled in it, tossed up and down by the tides of karma and change. You can turn up your nose, call it 'Maya,' and reject it. Or, you can recognize it for what it is and marvel at it in all its wonders, its sorrows, and its confusing shifts and changes. These days, I'm choosing to interact with reality with an attitude of adoration. To love the world without qualification, however it presents itself. How do you do that when its painful, unjust, confusing? Ah, that's the practice, and the challenge.

  1. I particularly like the following: "To love the world without qualification..."

Since we are building our vocabulary as teachers, I think the phrase "without qualification" is one to add somehow when talking to students about the energetics of a pose-just a thought
